Addicted to OGame

I started playing OGame recently… and well… I’m addicted. It’s a webbased RTS, for those that do not know, with a huge community. You get a planet and have to mine for resources at first, later you get to attack other peoples planets and take there resources. It’s tons of fun.

PhysX by Ageia

Our game, Hostile Engagement, now has support for PhysX by Ageia. I spent a while integrating it and what I have completed is very promising. I’ll be posting videos as we get further into development.PhysX

Best. Ringtone. Ever.

Yes, I was bored and made the song attached to this YTMND my ringtone.

Bad Breath Detector

This is what companies with too much time on there hands get to make:

From a Wierd.com blog: “Feeling amorous? Before you move in for the kiss, see how you register on the Kiss Me Meter. This MEMS(Micro ElectroMechanical System)bad breath detector measures the sulfur-based compounds produced by food particles trapped in the mouth, letting you know if you’ve got dragon breath before it curls your partner’s hair. The meter diplays five levels of stink on a color scale (green through red). Despite its romantic name, it seems appropriate for all social situations. Breath mints not included.”

Upgraded, time to remove ads

My hosting account was upgraded without a problem! I’m now on a paid account which should have 99% uptime as well as greater speed. I’m currently working on removing the ads that are placed around our site as they are no longer needed with the paid account.

Enjoy the new speeds!

Well, I sent the money…

I sent my host the money for the upgrade and the account should be switched sometime today or tomorrow, we’ll see. There shouldn’t be any downtime – but you never know.

I hope it’ll stay working…

I recently attempted to upgrade to a paid hosting package for Valde Games (and this site). As you can see with the recent down time, it didn’t work too well. They moved my account to the paid server and attempted to transfer the MySQL databases. Sadly, however, the MySQL database versions were different (newer on the free server then the paid) so they failed to transfer my MySQL databases. I complained and they said they’d have it fixed in 1 – 2 days. Five days later, they upgraded the databases (without notifying me) and I took it apon myself to transfer the data to the new server. They did however refund my paid payment which means I am on the paid server, but do not have a paid account. This is bad because upgrading to a paid account may, once again, bring downtime – or I may loose files. We’ll see, I sent the admin a PM on the host’s forums.

Another note: I recently got a cell phone, LG VX8300.

ServConv: A new version is out (build 99), download it here.

To start this off…

Well, my lame one file text-based site got a make-over and is now, yet another, WordPress blog. I’ll be posting what’s going on with HE (a game my team is currently working on), as well as other programs I make. I’ll also post things that I come across and find interesting here as well. And to start my blog off, here’s my first entry…

Many people were waiting for the {eon8} countdown to reach zero to see just what all the “fuss” was about. I wouldn’t be surprised if most, if not all of them were really pissed to learn it wasn’t anything of interest, just a test this guy put together. I for one thought it was the funniest thing ever! This guy must have had thousands of people, including myself, hit is webpage waiting for that little counter to reach zero, only to refresh it (whenever there request got threw because the load was so high) and find that they waited for nothing. When people don’t have any information on something it drags their interest in, now if only this guy put an ad on his site… he’d have made a ton of money.
